Detoxification Juices
Wheatgrass is the young grass that eventually grows into grains like wheat, barley, oat, or rye. The benefits of wheatgrass juice are numerous but the three main categories are: blood purification, liver detoxification, and colon cleansing. Once harvested, wheatgrass is juiced and consumed fresh, or made into wheatgrass powder or tablets. Some companies grow, harvest, and juice their wheatgrass and freeze it into individual servings to be sold in health food grocery stores.
Wheatgrass Health Benefits
Charles F. Schnabel, the Father of Wheatgrass, was the pioneer of discovering wheatgrass benefits and the commercial enterprise of it. He stated, “15 pounds of wheatgrass is equal in overall nutritional value to 350 pounds of ordinary garden vegetables.” The benefits of wheatgrass are numerous because it contains over 80 important enzymes, at least 20 essential and non-essential amino acids, and so many vitamins that, in 1939, the American Medical Association accepted it as a natural vitamin food. In addition, wheatgrass also contains major and minor minerals important for cardiovascular and immune function.
